KYC & AML Policy
Anyone who opens a Clinton Casino account or moves money through it is covered by this page. The checks described here can happen when you register, ahead of your first deposit, before a withdrawal and whenever the law or the activity on your account requires one. This page is part of our Player Agreement, and our Personal Data Policy sets out how we store the information you provide.
Why do we verify players?
You can open an account only where online gambling is legal. Our anti-money-laundering controls, plus our checks on your age and identity, follow Canadian standards. These measures protect you and keep criminal money off our platform.
- It confirms you are 19 or older.
- It makes sure each account belongs to a single real person.
- It stops stolen cards and accounts from being used.
- It keeps your withdrawals going to you and no one else.
Which documents will I need to prove my identity and age?
Opening an account requires three pieces of information from you: the full name shown on your legal documents, the day, month and year you were born, and the address where you currently live. All of this is verified electronically, and we also establish where you are physically situated ahead of processing an initial deposit. If something cannot be verified that way, we will request documents that support it:
- Identity: a current passport, driver's licence or other government photo card showing your name, photo and date of birth.
- Home address: a government letter, a bank statement from the last few months or a utility bill. Each must show the same name and address as your account.
- Payment ownership: prove the payment method is yours by sending a photo of the card you used (with the middle digits covered) or an image of your e-wallet or online banking profile where your name is visible.
Make sure each document is valid, uncropped, clear and in full colour. Submit them by uploading in your account or by email to our team.
How do we keep records and meet reporting duties?
- Records of your identity documents and transactions are kept for as long as Canadian law requires.
- We report suspicious transactions, and transactions the law lists as reportable, to the relevant Canadian authorities.
- The law prevents us from telling anyone if we have filed a report.
- Only trained staff can access these records, which are held securely.
When do we ask about source of funds?
In some cases we will request proof of where your gambling money comes from. Common triggers are large or frequent deposits, a sharp rise in activity, or withdrawals close to our C$25,000 daily limit. Useful proof includes:
- Recent payslips or an employment letter
- Bank statements showing the incoming funds
- Proof of a sale, inheritance or investment payout
Where activity is higher, we may also examine your source of wealth, which means how your savings or assets as a whole were built up.
What happens when verification is not completed?
- Until these checks are done, we may pause your deposits, withdrawals and play.
- Accounts with false, altered or third-party documents are closed.
- Balances are handled under our Player Agreement and Canadian law, which may require us to hold funds.
- Bonuses linked to an unverified account may be removed under our Bonus Terms.
Do checks continue after sign-up?
Yes. Our systems watch account activity continuously, including deposit patterns, payment methods, login locations and links between accounts. We may update your verification when your details change, when documents expire or when activity no longer matches your profile.
How do sanctions screening and checks on politically exposed persons work?
- Sanctions lists are checked for every player on registration, and these checks are repeated at regular intervals.
- We screen for politically exposed persons, along with their relatives and known associates.
- A match leads to enhanced checks and may result in refusal or closure.
- We do not accept players subject to sanctions.
How do I contact our verification team?
Send an email to [email protected] using "Verification" as the subject. Give your account username, and attach documents only in the formats our team asks for.
